Today is International Women’s Day

She walks into the room, and every man notices her distinction. Most every man instinctively – despite his will and otherwise focus – evaluates her presumption to enter the room. A child – especially in despair – upon realizing she – she is present, finds a special level of comfort. A village seeks her out among others of her capacity, to explain the silence of the rest. Powerful leaders feel powerless without her conspicuous place speaking loudly – even without a word.

There is added balance in a conflict; there is mysteriously consistent balance in a world where she dares to observe from the inside and assert a resolution – an angle driven from a novel perspective. For she feels – like no other creature – the value of the human over the desires of the moment. For it is she – after all – who bore them all.

She is, simply, every woman. From land to land and from shore to shore. It is not just proper or noble, but it is imperative that we reflect on the essential and fundamental value of every woman. The “she” in every room of our entire world and on every page of our collective history.

Today is a good day to do just that.
